I want to take a moment to share something with all of you that has been a huge help in my quest to learn as much as I can when it comes to fishing in the California Delta.
It’s not a secret that you need to understand the underwater terrain within the area that you are fishing. The professional anglers know this and they use this information day after day to out fish the unaware anglers.
One of my secrets to becoming a better Delta angler was to spend time studying the various maps and navigation apps I had access to.
This information along with learning the behavior of both Large Mouth Bass and Striped Bass has lead to a massive increase in my catch ratio the past 3 or 4 years.
Now you may not be the type of person who wants to spend time doing any studying at all. You just want to get out there and go fishing and that’s fine when it comes to fishing.
Just don’t complain when some one like me comes along and out fishes you because I took the time in the past and still do so weekly to study navigation maps.
Now on the other hand, if you want to improve your Bass fishing ratio take a look at the link I have included in this post. This is a link to a navigation web app from the Navionics Sonar Unit company. Yep the same Navionics company used by the professionals minus the bells and whistles (gotta pay for those).
I use apps like this to learn why fish are in certain areas, what the depth levels are, where should I cast to and why, etc. etc. If you are serious about becoming a better Bass fishermen take the time to review this information.
You can copy the link to your cell phone, laptop, tablet and check it out while out on the water if need be. Just use this app, study the details in the areas you want to go fishing in.
You may surprise yourself with what you find and your catch ratio just might increase like mines’ did once I put the information to use.
